Piccadilly line closure: 28-31 May

Due to planned engineering works, there will be no Piccadilly line London Underground service to or from Heathrow between Thursday 28 and Sunday 31 May 2026.

 

Heathrow Express, Elizabeth line, replacement buses and local bus services will run as normal on these days.

 

Please plan your journey prior to travelling to Heathrow, and allow for extra time where necessary, as these services will be busier than normal.

Terminal 4 multi-storey car park is closing 23 June 2026


From 23 June 2026, the Terminal 4 multi-storey car park (for Terminal and Meet & Greet Parking) will close as part of a major redevelopment programme to modernise the terminal's forecourts and car park, improving passenger experience.

These works include:

  • A new car park

    Designed to replace the ageing car park, ensuring long term structural safety, increased resilience, and improved operational performance.

  • Improved drop-off area
    Improved drop-off area

    A more intuitive design that supports smoother traffic flow, clearer wayfinding, and easier access for passengers.

  • Modernised facilities
    Modernised facilities

    Including upgraded accessibility features, new waiting areas, enhanced signage, and better integration with public transport and sustainable travel routes.

Where to park at Terminal 4

All passenger parking for Terminal 4 will move to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park.

Use Zone A if you want to:

  • Accompany departing passengers into the terminal
  • Meet arriving passengers in the terminal.

Free parking

Up to two hours of free parking will be available only in Zone A

After two hours, standard Park & Ride drive-up prices apply (£46.80 for the first 24 hours).

Shuttle buses

Free shuttle buses will run every five minutes between Park & Ride Zone A and Terminal 4.

  • Transfers will take as little as six minutes
  • All buses are fully accessible
  • Plenty of luggage space onboard.

If you're travelling

The Park & Ride car park for Terminal 4 will continue to operate as normal during the redevelopment works, and can be booked online.

Drop-offs

Terminal 4 drop-offs will continue as normal.

A £7 charge applies for each visit to the terminal forecourt. Vehicles should not be left unattended in this area.

Pick-ups

A Priority Pick-Up area on the arrivals level of the multi-storey car park (which is not affected by the works) will be available for quick collections right outside the Terminal. Vehicles should not be left unattended in the zone.

A fee applies for each visit to the pick-up area. Payments will only be possible online.

    Clearly marked areas for wheelchairs and mobility equipment, ensuring quick access and easy management.

From 23 June 2026, all Terminal 4 parking will be provided at Park & Ride 4 (Zone A). This area will offer:

  • A two‑hour free stay for passengers
  • A dedicated Terminal Parking‑style parking product
  • Hosted support on site
  • Regular, reliable shuttle buses to and from Terminal 4
  • Accessible facilities, including mobility support, trolleys, and welfare areas

The remainder of Park & Ride 4 will continue to operate as standard Park & Ride parking.

Terminal‑adjacent pick‑up (Arrivals Level 1) and drop‑off (Departures Level 4) will remain open.

The Arrivals Level pick-up area (Level 1) will remain open and will transition into a dedicated Priority Pick-Up area once the car park closes. This will continue to provide passengers with convenient, terminal‑adjacent access while construction work takes place.

The zone will operate on a simple drive‑in, collect, and depart model to support efficient traffic flow. Family and friends, private-hire vehicles, Ubers and other operators will all be able to use this location for quick, safe passenger collection.

This will be a dedicated Priority Pick-Up area, offering a controlled, efficient space for collecting arriving passengers.

Charges will apply as follows:

  • £7.00 for 0 to 10 minutes
  • £14.00 for 11 to 29 minutes
  • £25.00 for every 30 to 60 minutes
  • £25.00 for over 60 minutes and each additional 60 minutes (or part thereof)

Yes. Arrivals Level pick-up (Level 1) and Departures Level drop-off (Level 4) will stay open.

Arrivals Level Priority Pick-Up (Level 1)

Charges will apply as follows:

  • £7.00 for 0 to 10 minutes

  • £25.00 for every 30 to 60 minutes
  • £25.00 for over 60 minutes and each additional 60 minutes (or part thereof)

Departures Level Drop‑off (Level 4)

  • Existing Terminal Drop Off Charge applies.

You can either:

  • Use Arrivals Level Pick‑up (Level 1) for quick, kerb-side collection
  • Or park in Park & Ride 4 (Zone A) if you wish to go inside the terminal. The first two hours are free.

No. Vehicles must not be left unattended.

You can pick up the shuttle bus to Park & Ride 4 (Zone A) from the designated bus stops (5, 6 & 7) directly outside the Terminal 4 Arrivals level.

Clear signage inside the terminal and on the forecourt will guide you to the correct shuttle stop. The stops will be:

  • Fully signposted with “Park & Ride 4 / Zone A Shuttle” branding
  • Easy to find from the main Arrivals exit
  • Supported by hosted colleagues, who will be available to help direct passengers

Shuttle buses will run frequently throughout the day, providing a fast and reliable journey back to Park & Ride 4.

Shuttle buses from the car park will depart every 5 minutes, with transfers taking as little as 10 minutes in total. Buses will run from 04:00 to 23:30 every day. 

No. Black cabs, private hire vehicles, and ride‑hail services will continue to operate at Terminal 4 with no change to current arrangements for both arriving passenger pick-ups and departing passenger drop-offs.

No. London Underground, rail, bus, and coach services to Terminal 4 will continue to operate as normal.

Dedicated Blue Badge parking will be available in Park & Ride 4 (Zone A).

The site will include:
